I love the interplay between stone and metal in this tourmaline bead and blackened silver chain necklace. The modern lines of the chain contrasts with the rough, translucent chips of stone, just as the oxidized metal creates a dramatic transition to vivid, colorful beads.
The faceted chips of tourmaline are arranged in an ombre color fade from black to deep green, to icy blue, to vivid pink. I hand-knotted each bead on fine, pink silk cord.
