A pair of Maligano jaspers in dramatic shades of black, gray, and rust red require a setting equally dramatic. Fine and sterling silver oxidized a deep black frames the stones, while sterling silver prongs hold them in place. Asymmetrically placed 14k gold prongs shaped into long talons add rich color to the setting, and contrast beautifully with the blackened silver. The posts are placed high at the top of the earrings to allow the earrings to drop below the ear lobes. The earring post and bullet-ear clutch back are made of sterling silver. The post length is approximately 9mm. The ear back is 6mm; easy to handle but not too big behind the earlobe.
