Like the heart of the sun, a golden Fossilized coral displays sinuous, feathery patterns moving like roiling flames in its surface. This unique stone is crowned with layered flowers that seem to rise out of the coral, cupping a deep purple amethyst in the center of the smallest blossom.
The center stone is held in a minimal silver frame with prongs. Oxidized a rich black, the tips of the flowers are lightly brushed to highlight the dimension of the layers.
I named this piece after Helios, the Greek god of the sun, who drives his golden chariot through the sky with a radiant crown on his brow.
